Who is The Internet Infrastructure Coalition?

by: Bryon Turcotte  /  August 13, 2014

On May 30th, 2014, Hostwinds proudly announced its membership in The Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2).

Here is a message from i2Coalition C0-founder and Chair Christian Dawson. He discusses the organization's accomplishments since 2013, and its vision is moving forward into the future.

Hostwinds is very excited about future collaborations with this organization. We use our strengths, knowledge, and experience to assist in propelling the i2 mission forward.

As the i2 website states, "The Internet Infrastructure Coalition supports those who build the nuts and bolts of the Internet, and we treat it like the noble profession that it is. We believe the continued growth of the Internet is vital for growing an environment of innovation globally and domestically."

Hostwinds is encouraged to know that as we work in concert with many other organizations within the coalition to strive for change, improvements, and innovation, all those we touch in business and service will be destined to benefit from this work. Our favorite quote from their website states, "_In short, we seek to foster growth within the Internet infrastructure industry by driving others to harness the Internet's full potential._" This makes us feel great about our commitment, our membership, and the overall potential of our future together.

An announcement of our membership has been published on the i2Coalition Blog, which further states our belief and excitement by saying:

"As Hostwinds began to study and appreciate the mission of the i2Coalition, it was only natural for our organization to bind our common threads of belief with theirs to help propel the collective best interests of an industry, its professionals, and users to ensure an accurate and educated voice is heard."

Hostwinds is now prepared as a member of the i2Coalition to assist with some "key initiatives" which are built within the foundation of the organization:

– Represent the interests of our industry on Capitol Hill and relevant regulatory agencies;

– Educate legislators and other key legislative and regulatory stakeholders on the complexities and workings of the Internet;

– Develop & share best business practices with fellow members;

– Educate the media about the industry; and

– Promote the Industry's messages to internal & external constituencies.

We invite you to visit the i2Coalition website and learn more about the organization's goals, plans, and accomplishments.
